Dr. Wuilker was invited to join the group associated Neurosurgeons NEURON to add to the group the new techniques in treatment of Pain and pathologies of SPINE, beyond traditional neurosurgical conditions. In this way Dr. Wuilker along with Dr. Marcelo Linhares jointly develop the neurosurgical area called Neurosurgery FUNCTIONAL. The Functional Neurosurgery is a subspecialty of neurosurgery, which basically consists of a group of surgical procedures to correct the aberrant processes of synaptic communication in the nervous system altered by neuromodulation. Thus, this process aims to address neurophysiological abnormalities and can be run either by surgical ablation (anatomical) and electrical stimulation (physiological).
