Biography

Professor Wellington Pham received his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Toledo and postdoctoral training in molecular imaging at UCLA and Harvard Medical School. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Radiology, Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. The focus of Dr. Pham's research centers on the use of innovative chemical approaches and nanotechnology for cancer imaging and for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Both of Dr. Pham's areas of interest have been funded by the National Institutes of Health and industry. To date, Dr. Pham’s work has been disseminated in over 40 peer-reviewed research articles, 2 book chapters, 6 editorials and conference proceedings and more than 60 conference posters. He has also delivered numerous lectures at national or international assemblies and conferences. Dr. Pham serves on the editorial boards of several journals such as American Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Journal of Molecular Biomarkers and Diagnosis and Journal Novel Biomarkers and scientific avenues including the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)-based Chemistry in Cancer Research (2011–2013). Additionally, he participates actively on a number of NIH review panels, German Research Foundation and other private foundations such as the American Alzheimer’s Association and the AACR.
