Dr Weihua Suna Assistant Professor in University of California at Davis Medical Center ,USA His research interest on signaling plays important roles in the development of many organs. Wnt ligands/proteins (such as Wnt7b) bind to the corresponding receptor (Frizzled) and either of the co-receptors (LRP5/6) to activate the “canonical” Wnt signaling pathway . He has extended his valuable service as Assistant Professor and has been a recipient of many award and grants. His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study. His research interests as an Assistant Professor reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals.
His reaserch interest on signaling plays important roles in the development of many organs. Wnt ligands/proteins (such as Wnt7b) bind to the corresponding receptor (Frizzled) and either of the co-receptors (LRP5/6) to activate the “canonical” Wnt signaling pathway, which stabilizes the central molecule β-Catenin to activate downstream targets. Some Wnt ligands (such as Wnt5a) bind to other receptors to activate the “non-canonical” Wnt signaling pathway, which is β-Catenin-independent and activates Wnt/Ca2+ or the JNK pathway
