Biography

rof. Dr. Turan Paksoy graduated from Gazi University Department of Industrial Engineering in 1998 with honors degree. He has continued to Gazi University (Industrial Engineering Department) and received Master's degree from the Selcuk University Institute of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree with a thesis titled "Distribution Network Design and Optimization in Supply Chain Management: A Case Study and An Experimental Study Based on Genetic Algorithms"​ from Selcuk University, Department of Business Administration (Production Management) in 2004. Dr. Paksoy has been employed as Assistant Professor at Selcuk University, Department of Industrial Engineering in 2007. Then, he received the Associate's degree in Production Management in 2008 from National Academic Council of Turkey. In 2015, he was promoted to full professor and then attended to London Kingston University as visiting professor during the term August-September 2015. Dr. Paksoy has over 150 published papers (about 30 papers in SCI indexed journals), including the majority of them on logistics and supply chain management. His papers appear frequently at reputable and internationally recognized journals such as Computers and Industrial Engineering, European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research, International Journal of Production Research. His academic studies have been cited about 300 times in SCI journals. Dr. Paksoy current academic interest includes Lean Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Fuzzy Set Theory. He has been offers undergraduate and graduate level courses in these areas at Selçuk University. Also, he has providing part-time consulting and training to agencies and organizations such as MUSIAD (Turkish Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association), Enkomak Industrial Bakery Machines Inc., Ozen Compressors, Karel Electronics, Kombassan Holdin
