Tessema Zewdu is an Associate Professor at College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He is a livestock and natural resources expert by profession. He has completed his MSc degree in Animal Production from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He received his PhD degree is in Production Ecology and Resource Conservation from Wageningen University, Netherlands. He has more than 20 years of research experiences in animal production, farming systems, crop-livestock integration, improved pasture management, range land ecology and management as well as other related thematic areas in terms of the design, implementation and communication in most parts of Ethiopia. He has been involved in interdisciplinary research activities at Haramaya University, Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), Amhara Agricultural Research Institute (ARARI), Oromia Agricultural Research Institute (OARI) and Somali Pastoral and Agro-pastoral Research Institute (SORPARI) in Ethiopia and has good experience in developing partnerships and team building with institutions involved in crop - livestock integration in most parts of Ethiopia.
