Nitin Kukkar

Biography

 Dr. Nitin Kukkar is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal and musculoskeletal tumor surgery. He earned his medical degree and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India.  Dr. Kukkar has completed three fellowships in orthopaedic disciplines: a joint replacement fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, New York; a musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts; and is a graduate of the E. Shannon Stauffer Spine Fellowship Program at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois.Dr. Kukkar is a member of several medical societies including the Orthopaedic Research Society, the International Society for Advancement of Spine Surgery, the North American Spine Society, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.  He has had several spine-related publications related to cranivertebral junction anomaly causing myelopathy and spinal cord compression, and minimally invasive spine surgery with TLIF and AXALIF.
Dr. Kukkar practices at the SIU Orthopaedic Clinic in Quincy, Illinois.
