Prof. Nikolajs Sjakste has received his PhD in the All-Union Cancer Research Center (Moscow) during the period of 1980-1983. Currently, he is working as Head of the Medical Biochemistry Department in the University of Latvia amnd leading Researcher in the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis. He has published 144 articles in scientific journals.He is serving as an editorial member of “Biopolymers and Cell” journal. Reviewing for “Nitric Oxide”and other journals. Full Member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences.
