r. Desai completed his undergraduate education at Duke University in Durham, NC and medical school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY and was elected the chief resident his final year. Subsequently, Dr. Desai completed a fellowship in diagnostic neuroradiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Prior to joining Northern Virginia Radiology Consultants, Dr. Desai was a neuroradiologist at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Desai specializes in imaging diseases of the central nervous system, spine, skull base, orbits and optic pathways, paranasal sinuses, ears, and the neck. He has a special interest in MR and CT perfusion and their applications in the diagnosis of acute stroke.
