Chief of Neurosurgery
Chief Neurosurgery Resident Michael Virk, M.D., Ph.D., joined the department of neurological surgery in June 2009. He graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology and received his M.D. and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Oregon Health and Science University’s Medical Scientist Training Program in Portland, Oregon. Currently, Dr. Virk is completing a fellowship at The Rockefeller University with Paul Greengard, Ph.D. and Michael Kaplitt, M.D., Ph.D.
His clinical interests include tumors of the brain and spinal cord, degenerative spine disease, and functional neurosurgery.
