Prof. Wei is currently a professor of the Department of Materials Science & Engineering and the Associate Dean for Research & Graduate Education for the School of Engineering, University of Connecticut. Her research has been focused on the fabrication and characterization of pertinent calcium phosphate-based systems, such as biomimetic apatite/collagen scaffolds, biomimetic apatite coatings, and in vitro and in vivo tests of biomaterials.
