Biography

Mark Dekeyser was born in Ypres, Belgium in 1953. He is currently Senior Project Leader in Regulatory Affairs at Apotex Pharmachem Inc. After receiving his B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Waterloo in 1976, Mark joined Chemtura Co. (then known as Uniroyal Chemical Ltd) as a research chemist in their agrochemical division. While conducting research at Chemtura, he received his Ph. D. in biology in 1994 from the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Dr. Roger Downer. Mark was promoted to Research Fellow in 2003 and remained at Chemtura until 2007. In 2008, he accepted a position with Apotex Pharmachem Inc. in Regulatory Affairs. Mark holds 36 US patents and has authored or co-authored 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and delivered 13 conference presentations, all in the field of agrochemical research. He is co-inventor of the acaricide bifenazate. Mark is also a reviewer for the American Chemical Society.
