Biography

Dr. Maira Souza Oliveira has received her PhD in Federal University of Minas Gerais/Brazil during the period of 2009-2013. During her PhD program, she had developed part of her thesis at University of Wisconsin – Madison/USA during the period of 2011-2012. Currently, she is working as veterinary and researcher at Federal University of Minas Gerais/Brazil. She has successfully completed her clinical responsibilities as the major veterinary at the Cardiology Service of the Veterinary Hospital. Her research has included heart failure, cardiac toxicity caused by drugs, cardiac differentiation of stem cells, electrocardiography, and echocardiography. She is serving as expert Reviewers for journals like Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods, Acta Veterinaria Scandinavica, Journal of Veterinary Science, BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Brazilian Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
