  Traumatic injuries can compromise the vascular supply to tissues. After tissue repair, they are at risk of venous congestion due to the increased duration for venous neovascularisation compared to arterial. If not treated acutely, this can result in tissue necrosis (approximately three hours compared to arterial insufficiency, which takes thirteen hours [1].
