Biography
Dr. Nicola is a Junior Investigator of the Argentine National Scientific and Technical Research Council, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, National University of Córdoba (Argentina).Currently, Dr. Nicola’s laboratory is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in the biogenesis and plasma membrane targeting of the Na+/I- symporter, as radioiodide therapy for the treatment of differentiated thyroid cancer is ultimately dependent on functional NIS expression at the plasma membrane of thyroid tumor cells. Dr. Nicola´s work is currently funded by the Latin American Thyroid Society.
