Biography

Associate Professor John Harkness Graduated in Medicine from Monash University and completed Microbiology pathology training in 1974, he trained at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, Hammersmith Hospital, London, UK and the MAYO Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at St Vincent’s Private Hospital & St Lukes Hospital. He is a member of the following organisations; Australian Society of Microbiology, American Society for Microbiology, Australian society for Infectious Diseases and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. His special interests lie in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases and antibiotic therapy
