Dr. John Repine is the James J. Waring Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics and Surgery and the Director of the WebbWaring Center (WW) at the University of Colorado (CU). Since 1993, Dr. Repine has guided the WW which in 2008 relocated to the new CU Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Under his leadership the WW research program focuses on a multi-disciplinary approach investigating and teaching inflammation and antioxidant biomedical research. This strategy brings together M.D. and Ph.D. trained scientists and physician scientists in an interactive approach seeking the cause and prevention of many common diseases including cancer and aging. The work of Dr. Repine and his team is consistently well supported by numerous Foundations and National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants. For example, Dr. Repine has been the Principal Investigator on more than $13 million in NIH grants including being the Principal Investigator for 10 years of one of five national NIH sponsored Specialized Centers of Research (SCOR) for Acute Lung Injury.
