Biography
Igor Grabec was born on 17 November 1939 in Slovenj Gradec. After finishing secondary education in Ravne na Koroškem, he studied at the University of Ljubljana, obtained a BA in technical physics (1962), continued post-graduate studies (1968) and earned a PhD in the same subject in 1971. After graduating, he was employed as Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, and in 1971 was elected Assistant Physics Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, where he remained until 2007.
