Biography

Christian Machado, M.D., F.A.C.C. earned his medical degree from The Santo Technological University in the Dominican Republic. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and his Electrophysiology Fellowship training at Wayne State University- Sinai Hospital, Detroit, Michigan in 1994. He’s been involved in higher medical education since 1996 becoming an associate professor for both University of South Florida and Wayne State University. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Electrophysiology and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the Heart Rhythm Society. He specializes in pacemaker and ICD implants, laser lead extractions, and radio frequency ablations. Dr. Machado actively participates in several research multi center and international trails and is a well-known author and speaker on the subject of cardiac pacing, defibrillators and electrophysiology. His has a passion for heath care equality specifically in underprivileged developing countries and has lead a medical mission team for ten years to Nicaragua and Cuba. Dr. Machado is the medical director of Electrophysiology Services, the Arrhythmia Device Clinic and is Chair of Clinical Cardiovascular Research at Providence Hospital medical Centers. He has been awarded Teacher of the Year in 2002 and 2005, as well as Ambassador Magazine’s 2013 Top Docs Award. Dr. Machado is also on the editorial board of SM Journal of Cardiovascular Disorders, Journal of Clinical Studies and Medical Case Reports, Journal of Innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management, and EP Lab Digest.
