Dr. Waddimba focuses his research primarily on investigating the factors that influence the day-to-day clinical decisions of healthcare providers, especially physicians. He is highly interested in the attitudes and motives of physicians with regard to evidence-based medicine (EBM) and shared decision-making (SDM). A secondary stream of his research addresses job satisfaction & job stress/burnout among physicians, with a special emphasis on their impact on the quality of care delivered to patients. A tertiary strand of Dr. Waddimba’s research investigates the comparative effectiveness of individual, team/group, or systemic performance score cards on the quality of healthcare processes and outcomes among vulnerable, injured, or underserved patient populations.
