André Lacerda de Abreu Oliveira is currently working at Laboratório de Clínica e Cirurgia Animal (CCTA/UENF), and Unidade de Experimentação Animal, Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro, RJ, Brazil; he holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Fluminense Federal University (1988), a Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1997) and a PhD in Medicine (General Surgery) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2004). He is President of the Brazilian College of Veterinary Surgery and Anesthesiology (CBCAV), President of the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Orthopedics and Traumatology and associate professor of the State University of Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro. He has experience in Veterinary Medicine, with emphasis on Animal Surgical Technique, working mainly in the following subjects: Thoracic surgery, intensive therapy, video surgery, N.O.T.E.S. and orthopedics.
