This is a case of a 66-year-old male who had sustained a blunt
ocular trauma 15 days back, resulting in anterior dislocation of the
crystalline lens and acute painful visual loss in the right eye (Figure 1).
At presentation, visual acuity was HM+ and intraocular pressure was
28 mmHg in right eye. The patient was managed with antiglaucoma
medications for secondary glaucoma, anterior vitrectomy and manual
small incision cataract surgery (MSICS) was performed under 100
ml IV mannitol for cataract extraction. S

For centuries, amputation remained the only mean of dealing with
the massively traumatized or infected lower extremity [1]. The major
problem in soft-tissue reconstruction of the lower third of leg, heel, and
ankle region is the poor vascularity and limited mobility of the skin [2].
Plastic surgeons are called upon to address the wounds that result from
trauma, infection and excision of malignancy. The first task is to convert
the existing wound into a healing wound by surgical methods as well
as application of modern wound-healing techniques. Most wounds
can then be closed using simple measures, such as delayed primary
closure, skin grafts, and local flaps.

Background: There has been varying and divergent methods in the treatment of paediatric and adult wrist
fractures. Current opinion and evidence suggest that in paediatric torus distal radius fractures, management with
splinting is as comparable a method of treatment to the traditional plaster or Paris (POP) casting. This is a retrospective
look at the safety of using the EXOS® thermoplastic (TP) splint to treat wrist fractures.

Carper’s theory is used to explicate and illustrate ways of knowing in psychotherapy and clinical practice. White
and Munhall’s expansion of Carper’s theory, particularly the pattern of unknowing, is highlighted to explore
psychotherapeutic intervention to illustrate context, intersubjectivity, and new perspectives leading to confidence and
change. A creative encounter using poetry in psychotherapy with a bereaved caregiver who subsequently becomes
a widow provides a lesson in hope versus hopelessness and is used to elucidate the process of how one struggles
with despair to yield to the return of hope. The potential for growth through mutuality and reciprocity for both the
patient and the nurse as embedded with the context of healing relationships is explored. Integrated case narrative
and analysis includes the expertise of a psychiatric nurse practitioner over a one-year period.

Background: Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common disease that induces back pain and radicular pain, with
an estimated annual incidence of 5 percent adults, disc fragments in cases that migrated upward or downward or
no direct connection between the protruded disc materials and intradural lesions, confusion with spinal tumor, may
occur.
