Tree Topology

A tree topology is a special kind of structure where several connected elements are arranged like tree branches. Tree topologies are often used, for example, to organize the computers in a corporate network, or the information in a database. In a topology of a tree, only one connection may exist between any two connected nodes. Since any two nodes can only have one mutual connection, tree topologies create a natural hierarchy of parents and children. In computer networks a topology of the tree is also known as a topology of the star bus. It combines elements of both a topology for buses and a topology for stars. Below is an example of a tree topology network diagram, in which twostar networks' central nodes are linked to one another. If the central cable (trunk) between the twostar topology networks collapsed, then those networks would be unable to communicate. Yet machines on the same topology of stars will still be able to interact.
