Neoadjuvant

Treatment of cancer disease through administering medicines before the surgery is called as neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Doctors suggest this chemotherapy treatment because of reasons such as size of tumour as these drugs may shrink the tumour and give them more surgical options. This neoadjuvant chemotherapy is done because of advantages such as overall survival and recurrence free survival rate, it serves as in vivo sensitivity test, increase the rate of breast conserving therapy and it facilitates the study of Cancer biology. The main difference between chemotherapy and advanced chemotherapy is that the letter n to destroy hidden cancer cells which remain undetectable.
