Contamination of soil environment by hydrocarbons (mostly petroleum hydrocarbons) is becoming prevalent across the world . This is probably thanks to heavy dependence on petroleum as a serious source of energy throughout the planet , rapid industrialization, increase and complete disregard for the environmental health. Release of hydrocarbons into the environment whether accidentally or thanks to human activities may be a main explanation for water and soil pollution. These hydrocarbon pollutants usually caused disruptions of natural equilibrium between the living species and their natural environment.
