Gestational Diabetes Review Articles

The prevalence of gestational diabetes and type 2 diabetes during pregnancy increases with the obesity epidemic. Gestational diabetes complicates 0.15% to 12.3% of pregnancies, with a wide variation in the incidence of gestational diabetes reported among ethnic groups. The prevalence of gestational diabetes among members of the Kaiser Permanente Colorado (KPCO) doubled from 1994 to 2002 (2.1-4.1%, P <0.001), with significant increases across all racial / ethnic groups. The trend towards higher maternal age, the epidemic of obesity and diabetes, declining physical activity and the adoption of modern lifestyles in developing countries have all contributed to an increase in the prevalence of Gestational Diabetes. Gestational diabetes is associated with a significant future risk of permanent diabetes in the mother, obesity and diabetes in the offspring in gestational diabetes. There are maternal and child health implications that remain at risk for a number of complications, in particular adverse fetal outcomes such as embryopathy, spontaneous miscarriages, macrosomia, obstructed labor. shoulder and stillbirth. There is a strong association between maternal diabetes during pregnancy and impaired cognitive outcomes. The journal article is sometimes called a scientific article, a peer-reviewed article, or a scientific research article. Together, journal articles in a particular area are often called literature.
