Datamining In Proteomics Review Journals

Proteomic studies involve the identification, as well as the qualitative and quantitative comparison of proteins expressed under different conditions and the explanation of their properties and functions, usually in a large-scale, high-yield format. The high dimensionality of the data generated by these studies will require the development of bioinformatics tools and improved data mining approaches for efficient and accurate data analysis of biological samples from healthy and sick individuals. The extraction of large proteomics data sets provides a better understanding of the complexities between the normal and abnormal cellular proteome of various biological systems, including environmental risks, infectious agents (bioterrorism) and tumors. This review will shed light on recent bioinformatics developments and data mining approaches and their limitations when applied to proteomics datasets, in order to strengthen the interdependence between proteomics technologies and bioinformatics tools.
