Conjunctivitis Open Access Journals

Conjunctivitis  is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, most commonly due to an allergic reaction or an infection. Common causes of conjunctivitis include bacteria, viruses, and environmental factors. Viral conjunctivitis is the most common cause of infectious conjunctivitis both overall and in the adult population. Between 65% and 90% of cases of viral conjunctivitis are caused by adenoviruses. Conjunctivitis is an eye infection in which conjunctiva, a layer of eye infected due to some allergic agents or pathogenic agents. The common symptom associated with conjunctivitis is redness of the eye ball and eyelid swelling. There are viral as well as bacterial conjunctivitis where in adenoviruses and staphylococci are the causative agents. The blood vessels in the eyeball become swollen. Open Access raises practical and policy questions for scholars, publishers, funders, and policymakers alike, including what the return on investment is when paying an article processing fee to publish in an Open Access articles, or whether investments into institutional repositories should be made and whether self-archiving should be made mandatory, as contemplated by some funders.
