Biography

Vittorio Di Federico is Professor of Hydraulics at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Materials Engineering, Università di Bologna, Italy. He received his Ph.D in Hydraulic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and his Degree cum laude in Civil Engineering from Università di Bologna. In 1994-95 he was Visiting Fulbright Scholar at the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources, University of Arizona, Tucson, and recipient of a N.A.T.O. Advanced Fellowship Program grant. His research interests include groundwater hydrology, environmental hydraulics, and water and drainage networks. He authored 130 publications and a book. He is/has been principal investigator in three EU-funded research project and a referee for several international journals and institutions. He is Director of University of Bologna Master Program in “Management of Risk induced by natural hazards” and a member of Bologna Academy of Science since 2009. He is a consultant in hydraulic and environmental engineering projects.
