The prevalence of severe obesity among adolescents has reached alarming levels, contributing to significant health burdens and increasing the risk of obesity-related complications. Bariatric surgery has emerged as a potential treatment option for adolescents with severe obesity who have not achieved successful weight loss with conventional interventions. While short term outcomes of bariatric surgery in adolescents have been documented, there is limited understanding of the long-term effects on weight loss, comorbidities, and quality of life.
