Biography

Since the year 2000 onwards, Dr. K Thennarasu is serving as HOD and Professor of Biostatistics at National Institute of Mental Health And NeuroSciences, Bangalore, India. In 1994, he joined PGIMER, Chandigarh as Lecturer & Head at Department of Biostatistics followed by the job of Assistant Professor and Head of the Department in the year 1999.

In the year 2000, he joined as Assistant Professor at Department of Biostatistics at NIMHANS, Banglore, India.

He is awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from IASRI, New Delhi and received Senior Research fellowship (SRF). He did his one year Fogarty International Post Doctoral Fellowship program at Washington University, School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri, USA , 2005-2006.He functioned as “Executive Committee Member of the Indian Society for Medical Statistics". He was member of Award Committee, Indian Society for Medical Statistics (ISMS). He is the recipient of Fellow of Indian Society for Medical Statistics (FSMS) from Indian Society for Medical statistics (ISMS). He was awarded SWAN-NaThaM award for best field based article published Journal of School Social work for the year 2008-2009.

Research Interest

His research interest implies Applied multivariate analysis, Statistical applications in genetics, Survival analysis, Qualitative data analysis, Latent variable modelling, Micro array data and Cluster analysis, Quantile regression and Regression models for count data.
