Dr Seang Beng Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and completed his orthopaedic residency training in Singapore in 1989. He subsequently worked as a post-doctoral fellow in spine surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas from 1989-1990. He has been practising at the Singapore General Hospital since 1991, and continues to serve as the Director of its Spine Service. He has served as the Head of the Department of Paediatric Orthopaedics at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital from 2001-2003, and the Head of the Department of Orthopaedics of the Singapore General Hospital from 2002 to 2012.
His main interests in spine surgery are minimally invasive spine surgery and spinal deformity
