Biography
Sonali Kurup joined Roosevelt University as Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in 2011. Prior to this, I completed my doctoral studies (2002-2009) in medicinal chemistry at Duquesne University, under the supervision of Professor Aleem Gangjee and postdoctoral training (2008- 2011) with Professor Matthew Soellner at the University of Michigan. My dissertation focused on the rational design and synthesis of novel anticancer agents targeting receptor tyrosine kinases, the folate pathway, microtubules and Hsp90. 
Research Interest

Design, Synthesis and Evaluation of Multi-targeted HIV Inhibitors A single scaffold is being developed to incorporate an overlapping set of key recognition elements to inhibit HIV reverse transcriptase and HIV integrase enzymes. Fragment Based Screening Approaches for the Identification of Novel Protease Inhibitors
