Alexander Hindenburg

Biography

After having graduated with an MD from Rutgers Medical School, Dr. Hindenburg completed his residency and training in West Virginia University Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. He has been an attending physician on the staff at Winthrop-University Hospital since 1988. He is Chairman of the Divisional Quality Improvement Committee, Member of the Resident Evaluation Committee, and a Member of the Continuum of Care Committee. Dr. Hindenburg is a member of the American College of Physicians, New York Academy of Sciences, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, and the American Society of Hematology. He is a prolific author with many publications in nationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals such as Anticancer Research, Blood, Leukemia Research, Journal of Biologic Chemistry, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Cancer, Chemotherapy & Pharmacology, Annals of Surgical Oncology, JAMA, International Journal of Gynecologic Cancer, Cancer Research, and the American Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Hindenburg has been the recipient of awards from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the American Cancer Society, and a research & clinical investigator grant from the American Cancer Society.
