Biography

Alain Franc, PhD, HDR, deputy head of Departement of Ecology of Forests, Grasslands and Water systems at Inra. Located in Bordeaux, at Reseatch unit "BioGeCo", for "Biodiversité, Gènes et Communautés". Interests in linking simple but relevant mathematical based modelling with biological diversity, which has a tendency to escape models, both at macro and mesoscale. Modelling metapopulations, and/or host-pathogen networks, with tools of graph theory. Interest in the role of history and diffuse co-evolution in community assembly. Recent interests in cophylogenies, with case studies between trees and aphids.
