Cloud Computing Research

Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources , in particular data storage (cloud storage) and computing power, without the user requiring direct active control. The term is commonly used to describe data centers which are accessible over the Internet to many users. Big clouds, which today predominate, also have functions spread from central servers over several locations. Public and hybrid cloud proponents recognize that cloud computing allows businesses to eliminate or reduce the cost of the upfront IT infrastructure. Proponents further claim that cloud computing allows businesses to get their applications up and running quicker, with greater manageability and less downtime, and allows IT departments to change resources more rapidly to meet fluctuating and unpredictable demands. The development of high-capacity networks, low-cost computers and storage devices, as well as the widespread acceptance of hardware virtualization, service-oriented architecture, and autonomic and utility computing have contributed to growth in cloud computing. By 2019 Linux was the most commonly used operating system, even in the offerings made by Microsoft, and is therefore defined as dominant.
