Seismology

Seismology is the study of earthquakes and seismic waves that move through and around the earth. A seismologist is a scientist who studies earthquakes and seismic waves. Seismology introduces the research specializing in all observational and theoretical aspects related to earthquake occurrence. Rapid location of earthquakes makes tsunami warnings possible because seismic waves travel considerably faster than tsunami waves. Journal of Geophysics & Remote Sensing is one of the top journals in Seismology. It publishes the original research and reviews on applied research and applications of seismic waves. A large number of important applications depend on this seismology interfacing with the real world. These applications include military, transportation, safety and environmental planning systems.
