Rebecca D Merrillcurrently works with the Center for Human Nutrition of the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) to conduct large, community-based maternal and child health and nutrition research trials in rural Bangladesh where she has lived and worked most of the last 10 years. She has over 5 years of public health research experience focusing on the influence of nutrition on maternal and child health, survival, and growth in rural Bangladesh.
Her specific research interests include investigatingthe combined effects of micronutrient deficiencies, genetic disorders, and environmental exposures, including groundwater minerals and aflatoxins,on infant and child development from conception through early life.
