Ayman Karkar has been a Consultant Physician and Nephrologist at the Kanoo Kidney Centre (KKC), Dammam Medical Complex (DMC) since 2001. He has been serving as director of KKC and DMC in addition to supervising the renal services in Eastern province, Saudi Arabia. He has served as a key advisor, been a chairman and member of numerous steering committees and provided valuable assistance to Saudi Ministry of Health. Dr. Karkar has great interest in basic and clinical research and published 65 papers in peer reviewed medical journals. He achieved his PhD from University of London and Fellowships from the Royal Colleges of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. He has great interest in haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapies and kidney transplantation. Dr. Karkar has been contributing largely to education and training of under and postgraduate medical students and nursing staff, and has organized and participated in many congresses and symposia.
