Biography

Dr. Anthony G. Charles, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the School of Medicine of The University of North Carolina and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Health Gillings School of Global Public Health Dr. Charles attended medical school at the University of Lagos College of Medicine and completed his surgical residency training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, UCLA, and the University of Michigan. Dr. Charles is board certified in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation. Dr. Charles has received numerous honors and awards, including Teaching Attending of the Year and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors medical Society. His research focuses on the Trauma outcomes, Global burden of diseases and injury prevention.
