Biography

Ana Suárez Sánchez, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oviedo, Oviedo School of Mines. She received her Ph.D. degree in Safety Engineering in 2003 from University of Oviedo. She holds degrees both in Chemical Engineering and in Business Administration and Master’s degrees in Occupational Health and Safety Management and in Quality and Environmental Management Systems. She is the International Coordinator of Oviedo School of Mines, as well as Coordinator of the Ergonomics area in the Occupational Health and Safety MSc Programme at the University of Oviedo. She has published more than 30 research papers in different refereed journals and conference proceedings, as well as three books and numerous scientific reports for enterprises and institutions. She belongs to the Editorial Board of three international journals. She has worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Exeter (UK), the Silesian University of Technology (Poland) and the Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic).
